Precision Makes Perfect: LEOMO Unveils the TYPE-S Advanced Analytics for the Serious Athlete

Boulder, CO USA September 9, 2019. —LEOMO, developer of the TYPE-R and revolutionary Live Video Sync application, announced the newest addition to their product line, the TYPE-S. Since inception LEOMO has been committed to bringing the most accurate and actionable motion data to help athletes and their coaches find new limits and new milestones. Geared toward the serious athlete, the TYPE-S features LEOMO’s cutting-edge motion analysis technology while also boasting some incredible new features and upgrades (Hardware and Software). The TYPE-S is a sports performance computer. It is a compact device designed for the serious athlete and those with active lifestyles. With a IPX7 waterproof rating the TYPE-S is ideal for any conditions you encounter. Super smart not supersized, its 3.0-inch transreflective display provides the athlete immense clarity under strong sunshine.

The TYPE-S runs on the Android 9.0 operating system which provides an intuitive interface. This gives you access to LEOMO’s application to track activities. While also giving you access to the Google Play store to download your favorite apps to enhance your training/racing experience. Wi-Fi connectivity and integration of a Nano SIM card gives you the ability to stay connected wherever you go via 2G/3G/LTE connection. Whether you are sending an email to your coach, texting a training partner, calling a loved one because you got a flat on your ride or browsing the internet, the TYPE-S does it all.

Athletes can capture their most valuable data in one location. ANT+ and Bluetooth® sensor compatibility allow you to capture data and cross analyze power, cadence, speed, pace, heart rate, elevation, and more. The TYPE-S syncs with LEOMO’s five discrete rechargeable Bluetooth® sensors, each with a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer. The data captured from LEOMO’S Motion Sensors filter into MPIs (Motion Performance Indicators) which help the user quickly quantify and interpret their motion. LEOMO understands the need for a reliable device because the data athletes are capturing on a day to day basis is invaluable. The TYPE-S comes with two Bluetooth® chips. One chip allows for communication with general Bluetooth® devices (headphones, watches, power meters, etc.). The second chip communicates with the five Bluetooth® LEOMO Motion Sensors. This increases the reliability of data recorded, decreases the chances of data dropping or sensors disconnecting.

With designated cycling MPIs (Motion Performance Indicators) established cyclists can immerse themselves in the new technology immediately. LEOMO is diligently working to finalize their run MPIs for the launch of the TYPE-S, and they can be expected in the fall. Their R&D team has been working with top tier runners and coaches to identify key metrics that impact efficiency and performance. These metrics filter into MPIs which gives the runner the ability to quantify their movement and make necessary changes to improve running economy or possibly reduce injury.

Release Information

The LEOMO TYPE-S comes in two kits. The TYPE-S consists of only the main unit, the multi-sport adapter, and bike plate. The TYPE-S Sensor Kit includes everything in the TYPE-S plus the Motion Sensor Package. LEOMO is offering three pre-release packages on our Kickstarter website which opens September 9th, 2019.
